Pavilion

If you are looking for a unique space for your conference, the Melbourne University Pavilion is the perfect venue for all of your needs. The Function space has a capacity to seat 120 people for a lecture style layout or up to 60 seated with tables. Layout options are highly malleable to suit any needs.

The Melbourne University Pavilion is located on the grounds of the University’s Parkville campus and is steeped in rich sporting tradition.  It is the main facility for the University’s Cricket and Football clubs with a heritage listed social room, flanked by the historic colleges of the University.
 The University of Melbourne commissioned Cox Architects in 2013 (designers of AAMI park) to expand and upgrade the Pavilion to better cater for functions and events through the creation of large a function space and a renovated social room.  Today, these spaces are a unique blend of contemporary and historic design, with sweeping views of the historic University Oval and Sporting Precinct.

The Pavilion function space allows for:

 

  • Flexible seating arrangements for up to 60 seated at desks and 120 lecture style.
  • Disabled access and bathrooms
  • Parking available along Swanston Street, College Crescent and Royal Parade. Limited parking available onsite at cost.
  • Provision for professional catering with commercial grade kitchen

Function Space Hire upon request includes:

  • HDMI/VGA/RCA compatible video and audio input
  • iPod jack connection
  • Data projector
  • Microphone (hand held and lapel)
  • Tables and chairs

Boat House

The Melbourne University Boat House is perfectly located in the heart of Melbourne CBD and an ideal location for board meetings and conferences. It is a split level venue with a dedicated function space on the first floor and a breakout boardroom space, kitchenette and toilet facilities on the second level. A separate entry and lift allow for private event access to all levels.
The Boat House is set picturesquely on the Yarra River and is home to the Melbourne University Boat Club, the oldest rowing club in Australia. With striking views across the Yarra River to Melbourne's city skyline and access to a generous veranda overlooking Alexandra Gardens, the award-winning function space venue was designed by Lovell Chen Architects to compliment the heritage-listed University Boat House, as part of the city’s historic boat house row. 
The Boat shed has the following features;
 

  • Board Room seating for up to 14
  • Breakout space
  • Function Space that allows for 50 seated with desk and 90 lecture style seating. 
  • Kitchenette with hot water
  • TV with USB/laptop connectivity
  • Disabled bathrooms and lift access
  • Balconies with views of the Yarra River and Melbourne CBD
  • Public parking available along Boat House drive
  • Close proximity to public transport

Sports Centre Function Space A+B

The new Sports Centre redevelopment provides two dedicated function spaces, kitchen and improved facilities in the heart of the Parkville campus. The Social Spaces are available for booking every day, subject to availability. The spaces can be separated or opened up as one large space. The rooms have the following features:
Function Space A

  • HDMI/VGA compatible video and audio input
  • iPod connectivity
  • Data projector
  • Kitchen access
  • Flexible seating arrangement of up to 40 with desk and 70 lecture style.
  • Disabled Access and Bathrooms

Function Space B

  • Kitchen access
  • Flexible seating arrangement of up to 30 with desk and 40 lecture style.
  • Disabled access and bathrooms
  • Data Projector available upon request
