Interchange is part of MU Sport's High Performance Sport program and operates in consort with Melbourne Global Mobility, which administers the University of Melbourne's inbound and outbound Study Abroad and Exchange programs.
Inter-change provides opportunities for inbound students participating in a Study Abroad or Exchange program at the University of Melbourne to play elite sport while studying at the University (Inbound Interchange). Likewise, eligible University of Melbourne students have the opportunity to sample academia and athletics at some of the University of Melbourne's global partners (Outbound Interchange).
The University of Melbourne is Australia's No. 1 ranked university and has a proud sporting tradition dating back more than 150 years. Olympic and world champions, Test cricketers and professional footballers from a variety of codes have all graced the sporting fields and study halls of the University's inner-city campus in Melbourne, the one of the world's great sporting cities.
Selected student-athletes have the opportunity to be placed with one of the University of Melbourne's high performance clubs, or introduced to one of our high performance partners for identified sports.
Support for selected student-athletes will be determined according to the level of performance and may include:
- Accommodation support (short-term billeting through full-year boarding)
- Club membership, competition and uniform subsidy
- Aquatic and fitness access
- Massage and physiotherapy
- Strength & conditioning and sports science advice
