Massage is primarily a pro-active therapy aimed at maximising soft tissue (muscle/fascia) function. A relaxation massage will ease away fatigue and tension, while a sports massage will increase range of motion and speed the recovery of soft tissue after training or competition.
Myotherapy is a tension and pain-reduction therapy based on manually locating and releasing specific trigger points originating in muscle layers of the body. Treatment includes:
- soft tissue manipulation
- myofascial passive/active stretching
- myofascial dry-needling
- thermal therapy
- corrective exercises
