Nona Lee Sports Centre - Solar Panel Installation
A project to install solar panels on the roof of the Nona Lee Sports Centre was completed in early 2017. The project was funded by a $500,000 investment from the University, and is expected to result in a 40% reduction in MU Sport's energy costs. The investment is aligned with the University's sustainability goals, which include a commitment to achieve zero net emissions from electricity by 2021.
Billibellary's Walk - Sports Precinct
Billibellary's Walk is named after the Ngurungaeta, or clan head, of the Wurundjeri people at the time of Melbourne’s settlement. The walk is a cultural interpretation of the University’s Parkville campus landscape. An information post was installed in the Sports Precinct which contains history about the River Red Gum trees, which predate the University itself.
