New air conditioning in Lazer Room, Nona Lee Sports Centre.
Melbourne University Sport has installed air conditioning in the two group fitness rooms (Lazer Room and MindBody Studio) at the Sports Centre on Parkville campus. Fitness members can now enjoy Group Fitness classes in comfort, regardless of the weather forecast. Previously, classes would often be cancelled on days where the temperature exceeded 35 degrees. Although this was necessary for the health and safety of members, member feedback showed dissatisfaction due to the short notice times.
'We are proud to further Sport’s commitment to quality customer service. It is great to see more Group Fitness classes running in increased comfort with this installation,' said Ange La Scala, Group Fitness Coordinator. Additional benefits include extra cardio classes (including GRIT™, BodyAttack® and BodyStep®) in the Lazer Room, as they will no longer affected by hot weather.
Sport is also introducing 30 minute Express Classes as convenient and quick exercise options that address members’ limited time during peak periods at lunch and after work. Popular Express Classes are expected to be:
- BodyBalance® – Mondays 6:00pm
- BodyPump® – Mondays 5:30pm and Wednesdays 1:10pm
- BodyStep® – Wednesdays 5:00pm
- CorePower – Fridays 1:10pm
- GRIT™ – Mondays 1:10pm
Additional new classes include the Spring Cycling programs on new Body Bike Smart Plus bikes, debuting in April in the Cycling Studio at Sports Centre.
