Congratulations to the University's B Grade Men's Baseball team for winning the MWBL premiership! The side made the grand final after beating Westgarth last week, and defeated the minor premiers Knox 13 to 7 on Saturday to clinch the championship.

At the end of August, the Squash Club earned an astonishing 5 premierships at Squash Melbourne's 2018 Winter Season Grand Final round. Six of the eight teams made grand finals, with the State 2, B reserves, C reserves, D and D reserves all scoring wins, and the A reserves finishing runners-up. All winning teams will move up a grade for the next season.

In Soccer, the State League 4 Men's team capped off their season with a win over the Northern Falcons. Going into half-time 2 - 1 up, the side fought off a late comeback from the Falcons, but Luiz Gonzalez scored his 3rd goal in the 87th minute to make it 3 - 2 to the University. The win ensured a top-4 finish after a 22-round season.

The Kendo Club hosted the Inter-University Taikai last week, achieving some fantastic results. Club members Nicky Lieu and Jie Ding won 1st and 3rd place respectively in the Female Kyu division, while Aaron Vo and Saint Tan earned 2nd and 3rd in the Men's. Overall, The University of Melbourne finished in 1st place, with Monash in 2nd.

The Uni Blacks Football team will remain in the VAFA Premier B competition after losing their preliminary final to Old Carey. The side led at half-time and three-quarter-time, but were outplayed by Old Carey who kicked 30 points in the final quarter. Final scores read University Blacks 11.15 - 81 to Old Carey 12.13 - 85. The results means that the Blacks will not join the University Blues in the VAFA William Buck Premier division.
