The Royals will play in the Gridiron Victoria semi-finals after winning its quarter-final against the South Eastern Predators 57 - 0. Next weekend the team will play rivals Monash Warriors and will be looking to repeat the 26 - 0 victory in Round 7.

Congratulations to Athletics Club member and Commonwealth Games silver medalist Lisa Weightman who finished 8th in the 2018 New York City Marathon last night in a time of 2:29.11. She was the only Australian in the top 50, with the 2nd highest Australian woman finishing 70th.

The Women's State League 2 Water Polo team are unbeaten and on top of the ladder after 11 rounds, with 9 wins and 2 draws. The Mens State League 1-2 Combined team are sitting in 5th place, but will take heart from a 9 - 7 win over 3rd-placed MC Blackballs last Thursday.

In Cricket, the First XI's match vs Geelong will continue next weekend after play was halted with Melbourne 5/57 from 31 overs, after Geelong were all out for 188 from 63.5 overs. The 2nds made just 2 runs from 1 over before the end of play, following Geelong's score of 317, while the 3rds are yet to bat. The 4ths batted first and made 118 runs, while Geelong got off to a solid start at 1/54.

The Men's State League 2 Futsal team drew 2 - 2 with Northcote FC, retaining 2nd spot on the Futzal Oz ladder. A tight and tense contest with few goals saw Melbourne's goalkeeper Anandra Putranto named man of the match, while Sergey Lakolev and Euikik Park nabbed a goal each.

In the Futsal Club's Friday Night League grand final, ManChestHair United 2.0 defeated The Lonely Liams 6 - 3. Despite the Liams leading 2 - 1 thanks to goals from James Gledhill and Oli Wu, United dominated the 2nd half courtesy of league golden boot winner Jack Harden's brace. The match was livestreamed here. Oriental City were the Silver League champions, defeating Borussia Teeth 4 - 2.
