Futsal

Futsal is a format of five-a-side football that is played extensively throughout the world.

The game is often played on a standard basketball court. The official ball is a special low bounce ball that is heavier and smaller than an official size 5 football. As a small sided game, players are constantly placed in situations where they must receive or play whilst under pressure or in confined spaces.

How does it work?

The term Futsal is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for "football", FUTbol or FUTebol, and the French or Spanish word for "indoor", SALon or SALa. As a game it places considerable demand on technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness.
