University Volleyball Club nearing most successful season in 51 years

02 August; Anthony Williams

Melbourne University Renegades Volleyball Club entered nine teams into the Volleyball Victoria State League for the 2017 season, the most teams the club has ever entered into the top league in the state. The 2017 season also sees the University represented in every division of the league for both men and women.

With seven of its nine teams qualifying for finals this weekend, the Renegades are experiencing one of their best seasons in their history.  The outstanding season has presented the Club with the opportunity to win the President’s Cup as the most successful club this year, pending results of the finals series.

Club President Gus Cirillo has found the club’s court performance impressive, stating ‘It’s a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the club -- from the players and coaches to the committee and managers’.

Find out more about the Renegades' finals campaign here.
