2021 UniSport Nationals Div 1 cancelled, focus shifts to local IV opportunities
UniSport Australia have today announced the cancellation of the 2021 Uni Nationals Div 1 and 2 events, scheduled to take place on the Gold Coast from 25 September – 1 October, 2021. The UniSport announcement is available on their website.
Melbourne University Sport acknowledges the uncertainties and challenges with delivering a national event during the COVID pandemic and supports the decision of UniSport. At this point, we would also like to recognise the work of coaches, team managers and student-athletes who have pushed on throughout lockdowns to promote opportunities, conduct trials and nominate intervarsity teams to attend the event and represent the University.
MU Sport recognises the value of intervarsity sport to the student experience, and the focus moving forward will shift to investigating intervarsity opportunities against our local Victorian rivals in September. We look forward to sharing more information as these sporting opportunities are developed.
MU Sport will be in touch with any student-athletes who have paid deposits or registrations to UniSport to confirm the refund process.
