Class descriptions

Foundation Reformer

Foundation Reformer Pilates is a beginner-friendly, technique-focused class that teaches the core principles of the Pilates method. It operates at a slow-to-moderate pace, using the reformer machine to improve posture, body awareness, strength, and mobility while establishing a strong foundation for advanced workouts.

Reformer

Reformer Pilates is a dynamic, low-impact workout performed on a specialised bed-like machine using a system of springs, ropes, and pulleys. It builds core strength, flexibility, and muscle tone by providing both resistance and physical support, making it easily scalable for all fitness levels.

Reformer Strong

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Reformer Pilates included in a MU Sport Fitness membership?

The Reformer Pilates program is a standalone program using specialised equipment and staff and is not included in the MU Sport fitness membership. Classes can be purchased individually online up to 48 hours prior to the class.

Fitness members can access discounted prices to Reformer classes.

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a full-body, low-impact exercise method performed on a specialised piece of equipment called the reformer: a sliding carriage system fitted with springs, straps, and a footbar that provides adjustable resistance. Unlike mat Pilates, the reformer guides your body through a carefully controlled range of motion, making it suitable for all fitness levels, from complete beginners to elite athletes.

Reformer Pilates focuses on building deep core strength, improving posture, enhancing flexibility, and developing long, lean muscle tone. Each session is intentional and precise, targeting the stabilising muscles that everyday exercise often misses.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, looking to complement your existing training, or simply wanting to move and feel better in your body, Reformer Pilates delivers results that you'll notice both in the studio and in daily life.

Our Reformer Pilates classes are designed to be fully welcoming to beginners - no experience necessary. Every class is led by a qualified instructor who will guide you through each movement with clear cues and hands-on support, ensuring you feel confident and safe on the reformer from your very first session.
