Mick is the Director, Sport and Active Engagement, leading Melbourne University Sport and is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight for the University’s sport, fitness and active engagement programs and services. The role is focused on delivering a connected and high-quality experience that enhances student and staff wellbeing, strengthens community engagement, supports sporting excellence and participation, and fosters lifelong connections with the University.
Prior to this role, Mick was the Director of Sport at Caulfield Grammar School and Chief Operating Officer at Athletics Australia and has extensive senior leadership experience across national, community and school sport with a particular focus on driving strategy development and implementation. Throughout his career, Mick has worked closely with education and sporting organisations to develop inclusive and sustainable sport and recreation programs that support participation at all levels, from grassroots engagement through to elite athlete development.
A graduate of The University of Melbourne, Mick holds a Bachelor of Education and is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Directors, combining a strong understanding of education and student experience with a passion for the role sport and active recreation play in building healthy, connected and thriving communities.
