What is Intervarsity T20 Cricket?

  • Representing the University to compete against other Australia or International Universities in Sport

  • You must be an enrolled student studying at the University of Melbourne in 2026.

  • We select the best student-athletes who study at the Univeristy of Melbourne for our Invervarsity teams.

  • The main competition for the year in Uni Nationals T20 held in Sunshine Coast 2026.

How to get involved

All new and returning students who wish to represent the University are required to sign up for the Intervarsity program each year using the form below. The information you provide will be shared with the team managers of your chosen sport so they can contact you about trials, training sessions, and important details regarding upcoming events.

Opportunities for 2026

Big Blue - T20 Cricket 9th March, University Melbourne Oval

Big Blue is a head‑to‑head match against Monash University as part of the Big Blue Challenge. We are seeking University of Melbourne students who play Cricket regularly, including those who are not currently playing for MU Cricket Club.

We select the best student-athletes for our Invervarsity teams.

Date: 28-31 July 2026

Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD

Event

In 2026, T20 Cricket will be contested in a men's and women's competitions on the Sunshine Coast, QLD in July. Matches will be spread out across Maroochydore Cricket Club and Caloundra Cricket Club.
The University of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi People; the traditional owners of the land on which the 2025 Nationals T20 Cricket will take place.

Predicted Costs

Flights Costs: $400-500

Accommodation: 6 nights $500. Team would share a self-contained apartment that will be booked by the MU Sport, and players would refund the split cost.
