Aikido

Aikido is a contemporary Japanese martial art that involves techniques to off-balance one’s partners by using their momentum and manipulating their joints. Aikido helps in developing balance, flexibility, and core body strength, as well as mind-body coordination, mindfulness and attentiveness to detail.

Our club is a friendly and casual community where we practice Aikido, stay active, and have fun. We also participate in cross-training with other dojos and Aikido practitioners to expand our learning experience.

Mondays and Fridays classes consist of open hands training on mats, and Wednesday training focusses on weapons, which is the use of bokken (wooden sword) and jo (staff).

We have gradings instead of competition, which is a test of your knowledge and study of the aikido techniques.

Please visit our website/Facebook/Instagram for more information and the most updated news. Feel free to contact us or see us at training!
