To proud Wiradjuri woman and AIS Share a Yarn Ambassador Gabby Coffey, her family is what helps her stay connected to country.

Raised in Alice Springs, Coffey now lives and studies in Melbourne where the Victorian Institute of Sport Netballer has recently been picked up as a Melbourne Vixens training partner.

Coffey said: “I love to go home and hang with my family and spend as much time with my family as I can. That’s how I really stay connected with country in Alice Springs. But I also go to New South Wales and spend time with family there.

“Going home is such a refresh and when I come back I feel brand new. It really helps me mentally throughout the year to sustain that level. I think it’s really important and it really supports me to be the best athlete I can be.”
