As restrictions continue to ease across Victoria, we welcome the continued return of fitness and sporting activity on the Parkville campus. We have worked hard to ensure that our Beaurepaire Centre gym and pool and indoor group fitness classes are able to commence from Monday 9 November.
Your health and safety is our most important priority as we return to campus, which is why we’ve implemented the following changes to our operations:
QR code and Health declaration
Prior to entering any of our facilities or participating in any of our programs, you must complete the health declaration by scanning the QR code at the entry point with a smart phone.
The health declaration requires you to provide your details for monitoring purposes, before declaring that you knowingly haven’t come into contact with anyone who has been confirmed as having COVID-19, or showing any symptoms yourself. This declaration has been approved by the University’s Pandemic Response Group and must be completed each time you visit us.
Bookings
Will open 48 hours prior to each session via our online booking system on sport.unimelb.edu.au. Please note no walk-up bookings are available.
Class and session sizes
Due to restrictions and density limits of indoor facilities, gym sessions are limited to 10 people per space per session, the pool is limited to 20 people per session, and group fitness classes limited to 10 people per class
Casual pricing and membership
Due to limited classes and spaces, casual pricing will be applied for each session. All memberships are currently on suspension. If you would like to reactivate your membership, please email memberships@musport.org. Please note spaces are limited and holding a membership does not guarantee a spot in a session/class.
Ready on arrival
There is currently no access to showers or change room facilities – so please be workout ready on arrival. There will be toilets available for use within the Beaurepaire Centre for those booked into a gym or pool session.
Full size towel
A full-size towel is mandatory for all fitness classes. If you do not have a full-size towel you will not be able to participate in your booking. Your towel must be used as a barrier between you and any equipment that you sit, recline, or lie down on, including the floor/ground
Drink bottles
Drinking fountains and bubblers have been turned off – bring your own full water bottle
Hand sanitizer and cleaning
Hand sanitizer stations are located at each entry and throughout the facilities.
If you use any equipment within the gym, you will be required to wipe down anything you have used at the end of your session. We will provide sanitizer spray and wipes. Our staff will ensure the facility is cleaned between each session.
Your responsibilities on campus
Do not come to campus if you have a fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of sense of taste or smell – however mild.
Follow this guide about getting tested for COVID-19 and what to do if you or someone you know tests positive, including notifying the University.
While on campus, its important you follow these safety measures:
