What is Intervarsity squash?

  • Representing the University to compete against other Australia or International Universities in Sport

  • You must be an enrolled student studying at the University of Melbourne in 2026.

  • We select the best student-athletes who study at the Univeristy of Melbourne for our Invervarsity teams.

  • Main Competitions are Big Blue and Uni Nationals which will be held in Perth 2026

How to get involved

All new and returning students who wish to represent the University are required to sign up for the Intervarsity program each year using the form below. The information you provide will be shared with the team managers of your chosen sport so they can contact you about trials, training sessions, and important details regarding upcoming events.

Opportunities for 2026

Big Blue 29th April -Melbourne Campus - Men & Women

Big Blue is a head‑to‑head match against Monash University as part of the Big Blue Challenge. We are seeking University of Melbourne students who play regular squash, including those who are not currently playing for MU Squash Club.
Uni Nationals Squash 27-3rd Oct, Perth, WA.

This week‑long tournament offers an incredible experience, with the team staying together in comfortable university‑provided accommodation for the entire event, with each member contributing to the cost.

Each team will consist of upto 5 players made up of male and female players playing in a mixed division.

Additional details, including indicative pricing for the whole event, will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.

For many students, representing the University is a defining highlight of their studies.
