Melbourne University Sport has made the tough decision to close the Melbourne University Alpine Lodge on Mt Buller for the 2020 ski season and until further notice.
A number of factors have led to the decision to close the lodge, with the health and wellbeing of the University community being at the forefront of the decision.
New restrictions placed on accommodation providers with communal facilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as a significant reduction of the Lodge’s capacity and number of guests per bedroom, along with patron limits in all shared areas has led to the decision to close the 40-bed shared lodge.
The Mount Buller Resort are also having to implement a number of new restrictions to access the mountain, making it difficult for a large portion of our community who would usually use the Lodge to access it this ski season.
