IV Big Blue Challenge

The Big Blue encapsulates the sporting rivalry between Victoria’s two largest Universities, Melbourne and Monash.

Rivals on and off the sporting field, the matches are played at Melbourne’s Parkville Campus or Monash’s Clayton Campus during Semester and offer a chance for students to represent their University in a local and competitive setting, at no cost.

A winner is declared at the conclusion of Semester 2 when the head-to-head results are tallied up.

How to get involved

All new and returning students who wish to represent the University are required to sign up for the Intervarsity program each year using the form below. The information you provide will be shared with the team managers of your chosen sport so they can contact you about trials, training sessions, and important details regarding upcoming events.

Semester 1 - Big Blue Challenge 2026

T20 Cricket - Monday 9th March - Men

Fixtures: Melbourne Uni Parkville Campus, Cricket Oval

Match will start at 4pm, and competition finishes by 8.00pm
AFL - Wednesday 1st April - Men and Women

Fixtures: Monash Campus Clayton
