What is Intervarsity snow sports?

  • Representing the University to compete against other Australia or International Universities in Sport

  • You must be an enrolled student studying at the University of Melbourne in 2026.

  • We select the best student-athletes who study at the Univeristy of Melbourne for our Invervarsity teams.

  • There is one major event a year, Uni Nationals Snow Championship.

How to get involved

All new and returning students who wish to represent the University are required to sign up for the Intervarsity program each year using the form below. The information you provide will be shared with the team managers of your chosen sport so they can contact you about trials, training sessions, and important details regarding upcoming events.

Nationals Snow will feature both men's and women's competitions across the following events.

  • Alpine and Snowboard Giant Slalom,
  • Alpine and Snowboard Super G,
  • Ski Cross and Snowboard Cross,
  • Ski Slopestyle and Snowboard Slopestyle,
  • Alpine Cross Country
  • Ski and Snowboard Rails

Accommodation

The Lodge

Within walking distance to Mt. Buller Village and located only metres from the Blue Bullet quad chair and Chamois lift, the Lodge provides the perfect place to stay on the mountain.

Clean, modern share-style accommodation with family rooms available, each room has two bunk beds with an upper and lower bed (total 4 beds).

  • Fully-equipped kitchen
  • Open-plan lounge and dining room
  • Stone fireplace
  • TV
  • Lockable ski and snowboard racks (BYO mini padlock)
  • Temporary post checkout storage
  • Lodge supervisor onsite

Guests must take their own linen (sleeping bags/doona/blankets, sheets, pillowslip & towel), food, non alcoholic beverages, toiletries & hair dryers. Pillows are supplied. Consumption of alcohol will not be allowed in the Lodge for the duration of the event.

Athletes who have their own accommodation on the mountain will not be required to stay in Univeristy provided accommodation, but will still have to abide by the Alcohol Testing rules.

BAC Testing (Blood Alcohol Testing)


  • All athletes wanting to compete at the Nationals Snow event must blow 0.0 (BAC) to be allowed to compete.
  • Testing will be taken 90 minutes before each race.
  • Athletes who fail the BAC test will be removed from all events for the duration of the competition.
  • If removed from an event no refunds will not be issued to athletes who have breached the BAC testing rules.
