Indigenous Student-Athlete Scholarships Now Open

BP Australia are once again presenting two $5,000 scholarships to the most promising Indigenous student-athletes (male and female).

One of the 2019 recipients was Barkanji woman and Bachelor of Environments student Asha Steer (pictured above), who has competed at four Junior World Orienteering Championships and has her eyes on the 2020 World Championships.

To be eligible for the scholarship you must meet the following selection criteria:

  • You must have participated at a UniSport event (or plan to in 2020), such as Indigenous Nationals, UniSport Nationals or competed for the UniRoos
  • You are a current student
  • You have achieved good academic standing and make an active contribution to the community
  • Your application is supported with a letter from Murrup Barak or MU Sport

To apply, write an application letter addressing the criteria above. Include in this letter what you study and your goals after graduation, as well as why and how this scholarship will help you.
