Melbourne University Sport recognises that all people have the right to freely participate in sport, fitness and recreation to achieve optimal health and wellness.
We also recognise that for the LGBTQIA+ people, there are long-standing barriers which have prevented the community from safely participating in sporting environments. In identifying and removing these barriers, we are committed to making all our sports, fitness and recreation settings safe and welcoming to the community.
As the first University Sport organisation to become a signatory to ACON’s Pride in Sport program, we take this responsibility seriously and are actively working through our Pride in Sport program to implement inclusive practice changes.
We’re determined to change this culture and have made a commitment to ensure that all our sporting environments are safe and inclusive to all. We’re proud to be leading the inclusion initiative in sport at the Australian university level.
Our Pride in Sport video conveys our message of inclusion and is an affirmation of our commitment to inclusive practice.
